Collaboration
‘Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.’ 1 Thessalonians 5:11
At St Michael's, Collaboration is one of our core values because we believe that learning and growth happen best when we work together. Collaboration teaches our children the importance of teamwork, respect, and encouragement, helping them to build strong relationships and become active members of their community.
What Collaboration Means for Our Children
For our pupils, collaboration means:
Working as a team – whether in the classroom, on the playground, or during group projects.
Encouraging and supporting one another – helping friends overcome challenges and celebrating each other’s successes.
Listening and sharing ideas – learning to respect different viewpoints and working towards common goals.
Being part of something bigger – understanding that everyone has a role to play in making our school a caring and thriving community.
Where Will Children See Collaboration in Action?
Collaboration is woven into the fabric of daily life at our school, including:
Group Learning – Pupils regularly take part in paired and team activities, learning from and with one another.
Peer Support – Older children mentor younger pupils, fostering a culture of kindness and shared responsibility.
School Council – Students work together to make positive changes in the school through teamwork and leadership.
Community Projects – We encourage collaboration beyond the school gates, working with families, local groups, and charities to make a real difference.
Our guiding verse for collaboration is:
"Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." – 1 Thessalonians 5:11
By learning the value of collaboration, our children develop essential life skills that will support them throughout their education and beyond.
