St Michael’s C.E Primary school has a 52 place Nursery class (26 places in the morning and 26 places in the afternoon) as well as provision for children up to the age of 11. Please see the appropriate section below for details of our admissions arrangements to our Nursery and Reception classes, or for in-year admissions.
Choosing the right school can be a daunting decision, and it is important that you make the right choice for the needs of your child. We would encourage parents who are considering sending their child to St Michaels to contact the school to book on to one of our school tours with our head teacher Mrs Drayton and get a feel for what an amazing school it is.
Nursery Admissions – (processed by the school office)
Children are eligible to attend St Michaels Nursery from the September after they reach their 3rd birthday.
St. Michael’s C.E. (Aided) Primary School offers 3 and 4 year olds the entitled 15 hours or if eligible, 30 hours weekly, free Nursery education for 38 weeks per year, during term time. This free entitlement can be shared between more than one setting and can be absorbed in Nursery and if required, by utilising our before and after school provision. Parents will be required to sign a parent/school contract stating when and where children are accessing their 15 or 30 hours free entitlement. St. Michael’s Nursery Session times are as follows:
Morning Session 8.55 a.m. – 11.55 p.m.
Afternoon Session 12.25 p.m. – 3.25 p.m.
Nursery admissions are handled by the school office. If you would like your child to attend our nursery class then please complete an application form and return this to the school office. Where the number of applications exceeds the number of places available, we will offer places in accordance with our admissions criteria. An application form for a nursery place in September should be completed by parents and submitted to school by 15th January which precedes the academic year in which the child will have his or her forth birthday. Applications received after this date will be considered once the first application round is complete and the places have been allocated.
Please note that a place in our Nursery class does not guarantee a place in our Reception class – all parents must apply for a place in Reception via Trafford’s Admissions team.
